I’m Bella

Remember that one question we always got asked as a kid…What are you going to be when you grow up?

For me…First it was a singer. Then an actress. Then a fashion designer. But since picking up a camera in high school and not being able to put it down, I can now happily say to child me…
“You’re going to be a photographer.”

And let me tell you what, it's pretty damn cool!

With a Fine Art Photography degree under my belt and shooting weddings for 6 years now, I'm still as excited as ever to continue photographing real people, in those special moments in super cool places.

During my time at university, I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography, focusing on landscapes, architecture, and documentary-style projects. This experience sharpened my artistic eye, teaching me how to work with spaces and how people interact within them.

Outside of my studies, I spent over 10 years working with children, and while it could be challenging at times (parents, you know), those moments were quickly forgotten with a hand-drawn heart or a spontaneous hug goodbye when they were picked up to go home.

“There’s heaps of photographers out there…

…What makes
you different?”

And finally, aside from university degrees and all that fancy official stuff, it just makes me super happy that I’ve been able to combine my valuable life experiences with the joy of meeting people and capturing them and their loved ones.

I’m a laid-back, happy-go-lucky person who sees my clients as everyday people, just like me. And my true enjoyment lies in capturing those real moments, photographing real people.

I feel awkward
in front of
the camera!

The majority of us do, and that’s ok! But in all my experiences as a wedding photographer, I have never once had anyone tell me that they looked awkward in their photos.

So, what’s the secret? There’s two parts…

  1. Part I: Me getting to know you. They call it a “consultation” but I think a bevvy and some banter sounds better. Whether it’s a coffee, cocktail or a Corona - let’s hang and get those friendly juices flowing. This means when we’re ready to snap some photos, we be comfortable ‘n vibing.

  2. Part II: LOVE. If you love someone, it will no doubt show in your photos! No need for forced poses or props – you guys bring the magic and I’m there to document it all for you.
